Yamaha FZ 25 Highlights
The current nationwide lockdown has forced manufacturers to halt production. This means manufacturing of all the two-wheelers from Yamaha including the FZ25 and FZS 25 has been suspended until further notice. We believe the production of these models is likely to resume from May 3 if the pandemic situation improves in our country.
Yamaha FZ25 Price:
The FZ25 was launched in India back in 2017 with a sticker price of Rs 1.19 lakh. However, the introduction of government safety regulations, mandatory insurance policies, and increased taxes led to a price hike. As a result, the BS4 Yamaha FZ25 was priced at 1,34,680 (ex-showroom Delhi). The revamped BS6 Yamaha FZ25’s price hasn’t been revealed but it may carry a premium of around Rs 5,000 over the BS4 model. The new FZS 25 variant may set you back by an additional Rs 4,000 to Rs 7,000 over the standard FZ25.
Yamaha FZ25 Features:
The biggest change comes in the form of a new front fascia, which now looks sharper and uses a bi-function LED headlight flanked by LED DRLs. It also features a new engine cowl. The new FZS 25 variant gets a couple of extra goodies, which may aid its touring capabilities. This includes a taller visor for better wind deflection, knuckle guards, and funky gold-painted wheels. The standard model is offered in two colours: black and blue, while the FZS 25 gets three: green, white and matte blue.
Yamaha FZ25 Engine:
The FZ25 is powered by a BS6-compliant 249cc air-cooled engine which now gets fuel-injection. Despite the changes to the motor, the bike still makes 20.8PS at 8000rpm and 20.1Nm at 6000rpm, mated to a 5-speed transmission.
Yamaha FZ25 Suspension & Brakes:
There's no change in terms of hardware. The FZ250 uses the same telescopic fork, rear monoshock, a 282mm front and 220mm rear disc. Dual-channel ABS comes as standard. Surprisingly, despite the BS6 update, the FZ25 has only gained 1kg over the BS4 model, which tipped the scale at 152kg.
Yamaha FZ25 Rivals:
The Yamaha FZ25 competes against the Suzuki Gixxer 250, Bajaj Dominar 250, and KTM 250 Duke. However, if we were to consider its price, which is expected to be a little over Rs 1.4 lakh (ex-showroom), the bike will also take on the Pulsar RS200, Ather 450 Plus, and its very own sibling, the R15 V3.
